Jacob Aki is a seasoned professional in crisis communications and electoral politics. Prior to advising with Pang Communications, he served as a political advisor on several high-profile political campaigns, showcasing his expertise in the dynamic field of political strategy and public relations.
With nearly a decade of experience in public service, Jacob honed his skills as a senior legislative staffer in the Hawaiʻi State Senate. His tenure as the Director of Communications was particularly impactful, where he served as the chamber’s primary spokesperson and led efforts in developing comprehensive communication strategies, managing media relations, and articulating legislative initiatives and policy issues to the public.
Jacob’s deep community involvement extends beyond the political arena, reflecting his commitment to the betterment of Hawaiʻi and its people. His communications expertise and background in ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi and Hawaiian culture have equipped him with a unique perspective that bridges cultural understanding with political acumen.
Born and raised in Kapālama, Jacob graduated from the Kamehameha Schools. He earned a B.A. in Hawaiian Studies from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and an M.A. in Political Management from The George Washington University. He is married to his wife, Annie, and is a proud father to two children, Lamakū and Leimaile.
